The Pie 43/44 Fullback Blast Play is one of many free youth football plays that work from Coach Parker. This Power I variation play is a quick hitting FB power run play that is easy to learn for kids. And its fun too. This play is from his Power Wing Beast Offense Playbook for youth football.
Free Youth Football Plays that Work
The 43 Blast play is a quick hitting Fullback Blast play to attack the interior of the line with a little misdirection from the Tailback running a fake 27 Stretch Sweep play. This play is set up by multiple runs to the #2 RB to get them keying on #2. Then hit them with a quick blast to the FB up the middle. If LBs follow #2, this play should be a good gainer if oLine blocks at LOS.
Key Coaching Points to Play
- #2 makes a great fake, one good fake worth 2 blocks
- #2 should raise hands like accepting a Toss on Fake
- #1 after handoff fake a toss or screen pass to the #2 back
- #4 needs to protect football and run hard into LOS & beat LBs
- Tex should Nasty Split (NZT) to highlight the fake hole
- If Defender in Gap, run one gap wider and or find daylight
When the defense starts to focus on the Tailback then the FB Gut and Blast plays work great, especially with great fakes by the TB. See the video below for a few FB run plays out of PIE in a playoff game 7 years ago. You can hear me call the play from the sideline based on how they lined up their stud DT.
